The latest on Soulless
The good news is that Soulless 2.0 is complete and ready. The bad news is that it doesn’t currently compile in Stencyl 3. So depending on how long this issue will take to iron out will determine how much longer until Soulless hits the Mac App Store and iOS App Store. Fingers crossed someone over at Stencyl can help me with this as the log file doesn’t even show any errors, so this...

Old IMG Review of Soulless from 2008
Most people don’t need much from a platformer. A little variety in the background, a few interesting puzzles, or even interesting ways to make things blow up are enough to make most people happy. The question lies in whether that’s enough for anyone to want to spend any money. Usually, it isn’t. Sadly, Soulless is lacking any really interesting gameplay elements. It mainly...

The multi-platform ports
Will 2013 see Soulless and Powerslam go multi-platform? I believe so. The Stencyl port of Soulless is coming along well. I have ported 8 of the original 21 levels so far, but that does still leave 13 more levels. I really hope I can have them done before the end of January. Not only this, but Erik has made progress with his hard work porting Powerslam over to Monkey (a huge thank you goes out to...

Well, the GameSalad port has hit a real snag so I’m now giving Stencyl a try so I can weigh them both up and decide the best possible solotion for Soulless’ future. Seven weeks in, and I have my Stencyl port of Soulless brought up to where I got the GS port up to and the Stencyl port is looking equally good. So look out for this new multi-platform port coming to you at the beginning of...

I have to admit I wasn’t sure if it would be possible to port Soulless over to GameSalad when I first started this but thankfully I have reach the point that I am confident a complete port is in fact possible. So I’m a little excited that all of the time and effort I have put into this won’t be wasted so wanted to share this video of the port so far.

Destination X competition
I don’t win things very often so I have to say I was more than surprised to find my new Impact Wrestling shirt in the mail today. Main Event had a competition where people had to email in what they thought about Austin Aries giving up the X Division title for a shot at the World Heavyweight title. The competition was a cool way of them promoting the upcoming PPV Destination X. At any rate,...

Soulless update?
Believe it or not I am actually working on an update for Soulless. Powerslam may have taken longer than expected but just as I said all along my attention has finally returned to my original game.

Powerslam review by App Store Arcade
Way back in the good old days of the SNES when I was mooching off my parents and the WWE was still the WWF (well the mooching hasn’t changed), we were treated to a multitude of button mashing wresting games. Now the genre has faded into the corner of the ring as well as our minds. However as Hulk Hogan managed to re-pop up as a current TV persona, so has a retro-like wresting game. In the right...

The intro to POWERSLAM is finally complete! There are only a few minor tweaks to the game still left to be made, so provided all goes well when I try testing the game on some other Macs we may finally see the debut of the first ever wrestling game for Mac between now and February 2012!

New website and host →
It was great using iWeb and Apple’s .Mac (later renamed to MobileMe) hosting service but sadly with both being discontinued it has become time to look elsewhere. So iWeb is out and RapidWeaver is in. There will be some downtime but after that my new website will be ready for the world to see thanks to my new host MacDock.

R.I.P. Steve Paul Jobs
An inventor, an icon, a technological genius has passed away today. I speak of none other than the young Steve Jobs who was only 56. A very inspirational man that I certainly looked up to. He changed the way I listen to music, use a phone, use a computer, play games. He made my life easier in many ways with his visions. I am deeply sadden by this news on many levels and unfortunately words fail to...

The lengthy evolution of POWERSLAM
Here we are in 2011, three years since my first game release and my second game has yet to come out. That is despite work beginning on it the year after Soulless was released! While my lack of coding abilities obviously contribute somewhat, what has truly slowed development down is my quest to discover a style all of my own that I could use across all of my games. So lets turn the clock back and...

New 2011 iMac
Half a decade old, it has finally become time to replace my old loyal iMac with a new one. Technology has just changed too much to make it practical to continue using it (only being able to upgrade to a maximin of 3GB of RAM is difficult when dealing with 3D rendering). It’ll be missed, but the exciting news is just how much faster my workflow will become with this new iMac. I’m also...

New direction & Interview
I have two very news worthy items to report and they both happened today. Last week I decided to unify all of my future games by giving them all the same setting. The other news item is that my friend Erik Hogan conducted an interview with me regarding my...

Contra 4 = Hardcore, not HD graphics
-Rant Warning- The dumbest but most common thing I see people use to describe hardcore gaming is HD graphics. How can anyone honestly complain and say the Wii isn’t for hardcore gamers because it doesn’t have HD graphics? The graphics are what makes a system not for hardcore gamers? If graphics truly are the definition to a hardcore game, go watch a movie. Boom, you just experienced...

The demo is more or less ready. The next few weeks will simply see some internal testing of it done. The demo will technically be the full game to this point. As I am simply holding off further development until the demo is out and mainly concentrating on the testing side now until the 23rd when I make it downloadable to the public.
